Is melchvr really free?
Yes. Creating wishlists, sharing them and reserving wishes are free forever. We don't run ads, don't sell data, and won't hide core features behind a paywall.
Then how do you make money?
Affiliate links on our blog. When you click out to a retailer and buy something, the retailer pays us a small commission. The retailer never sees who you are. We never see what you bought. No affiliate links live on your wishlists.
Do my friends need an account to view my wishlist?
No. Send a link, they open it. They can reserve a wish straight from the browser. Signing up is optional — only useful if they want a list of their own.
Where is my data stored?
In the European Union, on Supabase infrastructure under GDPR. We don't replicate it outside the EU and we don't share it with ad partners (we don't have any).
Do you use my wishlist data to train AI?
No. Your wishlist data is never used for training models, ad targeting, or anything other than running the app for you.
How are duplicate gifts prevented?
When a friend reserves a wish, you can't see it but everyone else can. The surprise stays, the duplicates don't.
Which platforms do you support?
iOS and Android. There's also a lightweight web view so anyone can open a shared list in their browser without installing anything.
